I had the pleasure of attending an event hosted by the Association of Food Bloggers at a local neighborhood pizza spot called Aurelio’s Pizza.

Since 1959, Aurelio’s Pizza has served up authentic Chicago-style pizza. We were able to sample some of their most popular dishes. Honestly, I thought I was going to try the DEEP DISH CORNBREAD CRUSTED PIZZA….but I was open minded enough to try the thin crusted pizza. Look at me – growth!

But first…let’s start healthy with a salad.

Aurelio’s Italian Antipasto Salad was packed with cured meats, olives, and peppers – delicious! I enjoyed the tangy notes of oil and vinegar, but I wished the dressing was thicker.

Although this spot is known as a pizza restaurant, you have to try the spaghetti with meat sauce. This was my favorite dish. I could eat boatloads of this. You gotta love comfort food.

Time for the pizza. If you’re feeling adventurous, try the Super Six Pizza (sausage, cheese, green peppers, ham, pepperoni, mushrooms.) My favorites are the pizzas packed with veggies.

Hawaiian Pizza – controversies surround this pizza. Does pineapple belong on pizza? I’m for the cause.

If you’re ever in Marietta, definitely check out Aurelio’s Pizza for a great bite.
