A trip to Rome isn’t complete without a visit to the Colosseum.
This has been on my bucket list for quite some time. I was speechless for a couple moments – wondering how many battles took place in this arena. Gladiators training to fight to the death. Romans basking in their wealth and glory – what a time to be alive!
I explored the Colosseum with LivItaly Tours. Anytime you book a tour, check to see if they mention RESPONSIBLE TOURISM. It’s very important as travelers to have a positive impact as we explore the world. This means we should give back to the community by buying local and respecting our surroundings.
LivItaly Tours is led by local tour guides and they limit the group size to maximum SIX people. I truly appreciated this because it was an authentic experience, and I didn’t feel like I was being herded around like cattle.
Starting November 7th, the Colosseum & Ancient Rome Tour will have an added enhancement of Virtual Reality. Yes, welcome to the future. When you sign up with LivItaly Tours, you will receive a cardboard eco-sustainable oculus glasses.
Using your smartphone and the LivItaly Tours app, you will be able to see all of Ancient Rome (Colosseum, Forum and Palatine Hill) completely reconstructed as it was 2000 years ago. This is the ONLY company in Rome that has this virtual reality experience- jump on this!
I recently had a virtual reality experience at Whiskies of the World. Trust me, virtual reality – makes everything better.
Let’s say you go without a tour and buy a regular ticket to get inside the Colosseum. You will not get access to the arena floor. It’s a restricted area – but guess what – WE DID.
Touring with LivItaly is essentially VIP access. We skipped the entry line and had access to the restricted areas – third tier of the Colosseum for the panoramic view!
As soon as I got back to the States, I watched several documentaries about the Colosseum. You don’t want to miss going inside the Colosseum – totally worth it.
