Siberia Spa Station – An Oasis of Relaxation

Take a deep breath and relax. When I entered the spa, I looked around and all I could do was smile. I  found paradise tucked away in the snow covered neighborhood of Quebec City, Canada.

Hot Tubs, Saunas, Fireplaces -Oh My!

This was my first experience at a Scandinavian style spa. It is based on a nordic bath circuit and thermal therapy.

Check out this video for a tour.

What’s a Nordic Bath Circuit?

The ritual involves going into a hot station (jacuzzi, infrared sauna, hot tub), then a quick dip at a cold station (waterfalls or river), and then a relaxing period (fire places, comfortable chairs, or huts).

Benefits of Nordic Bath Circuit

This facility is clean, modern, and well maintained. Amélie Gagnon, Director of Operations, gave me a tour of the facility. I was amazed at all the stations: my favorite was the heated igloo with hammock swings. Huge Bonus: Great wifi over the entire property.

I will admit I was scared to go into the cold station. I’m not a fan of the cold. Somehow I’ve made it to Antarctica and back, but I’m still hesitant to dip into a cold station. I’m proud of myself for doing so and I definitely felt relaxed afterwards.

The have a Siberia Cafe on the property that offers sandwiches, salads, and beverages. I warmed up to some butternut squash soup and a chicken pesto sandwich – delicious!
