Online Dating Website for Travelers – Miss Travel

As a frequent traveler, I’ve heard of Miss Travel among the travel community.

miss travel

Miss Travel promotes “Dating for generous and attractive travel companions. Earn frequent flyer miles for traveling for free. Never Travel Alone.” The creator of Miss Travel, is a MIT graduate, Brandon Wade, who built this 10 MILLION dating empire .

I will admit, that I’m a bit cautious – wondering if this is just a clever way to pitch the oldest profession alive. Is it actually legit? Is this where all the nice guys have gone?

We will find out together. I have created an account and I will take you with me…every step of the way. Brace yourself.

First off, it’s free to join. Pretty simple setup – name, e-mail address, age, and body type. They have two questions to answer: brief summary about me and why I like to travel. You can view the site on your mobile device as well as your computer.

They require you to upload one photo – maximum eight. Also, there is an option to upload private photos for people you communicate with. There are strict rules on all photos: only G -rated photos, no children in the photos, you have to be in the photo, and no nudity.

There’s actually an approval process for the photos! So, my account won’t be ready for another day or so.

Meanwhile, I’ve already started browsing. Are there attractive people on the site?

YES. Praise HIM. There is a diverse range regarding background, age, race, etc.

Men post their salaries on this website, and I’m concerned how one can pay for an all expense paid trip to Colombia when you make roughly 40K a year?  One guy posted he makes between 40-50K? But how Sway? Where are you staying? In a hostel? Maybe, it’s a business trip and the company is paying for it? Also, there are some twenty something guys on here boasting that they make 10 million annually?  Really?

I do see that many men offer to pay for you to have a separate room. Also, if you are a premium member the site offers background checks on the participants. That’s a winner in my book.

I’ll try to remain open but I’m concerned of safety and honestly, traveling is stressful. So many things can go wrong – you can get sick, lost, etc. – do you want to experience that with a complete stranger? Also, what if you don’t like each other after the first couple of hours – are you then stuck in the same room…or worse on a cruise ship?

The most surprising element of this site: domestic travel. There are some people hopping to the next city or state over, which isn’t as daunting as traveling overseas. I could see meeting up with someone locally before an international trip.

Also, it seems that about half of the men offer to split the costs for the trip, rather than paying for all of it. If a woman feels more comfortable paying for the trip, that could be arranged as well.

  1. Well, I must say that online dating is risky, and I will always recommend that we should practice a
common sense approach when meeting a stranger online. Your story is so very inspiring. The beautiful
catch for me in your story is that at one point we all must realize and acknowledge what is the core
ambition or “story” ones own life.
