Dining Experience with Chef Jarvis, Contest to Win a Seat At the Next Event

I love food. I see how it connects people with different cultures and enriches the soul. Last night, I dined at Chef Jarvis Belton’s LeftOver Dinner Series and enjoyed the vibrant colors and flavors of Cuban Street Food.

I have never been to Cuba, so I was eager to taste some authentic dishes.

Chef Jarvis provides a private dining experience to his guests.  Let me just say that I applaud, the farm to table movement. Patrons should enjoy the freshest ingredients. When we arrived, we were greeted by staff and seated at the communal dining table. It was a friendly environment. We were given an ice breaker challenge to become more acquainted with other patrons. There was a raffle and silent auction throughout the dinner, so there was never a dull moment. The food was delicious: my favorite dish was the fire roasted corn with a rum glaze and chili sauce.

Learning how to make an authentic mojito with fresh mint and cane sugar – winner! It was refreshing and a great way to entertain guests. Note to self, when I entertain guests in the future. Throughout the dinner, there was a raffle and a silent auction to win artwork and an additional dinner series experience with Chef Jarvis- I won both. I was so excited! I barely win with anything.
