Welcome to Botswana!!
After visiting Victoria Falls, I was excited to explore my next destination: Ngoma Lodge and the Chobe River. Botswana is right next door to Zambia and Zimbabwe. I’m so grateful I was able to extend my trip to experience this wonderful country. Please don’t pass this over, it’s a must see for any traveler.
How to Get There:
Botswana is approximately 45 minute drive from Victoria Falls. Our hotel transfer was arranged by Africa Albida Tourism and the tour operator, Wild Horizons. The driver provided an itinerary that included all our transfers. Going through border control was a breeze! For US Citizens, you don’t have to pay a visa. We got our passports stamped at the border and we were on our way. Our guide from Ngoma lodge was waiting for us at the border with a smile.
“Welcome to Botswana, you can call me MK,” he said.
MK is a local guide, which I appreciated. He grew up in the area and has a passion for wildlife. You could see it in everything he did. He stopped the vehicle to pick up a can of soda that was left in the street. I volunteer to clean up parks, so I’m grateful when guides go above and beyond to keep animals safe. As we drove toward the lodge, he pointed out various wildlife: baboons, giraffes, and elephants.
Exclusive, Quality Service
Lucy was our host and I honestly felt like she was a part of my family. She was so nice and accommodating. She was available, but not overbearing. She made sure that every moment spent at the lodge ran smoothly.
Ngoma prides itself on offering an exclusive, luxurious experience. Privacy is a top priority. We had our own guide for our entire guide which include our transfer, game drives, bush picnic, and the Chobe River cruise. With typical safari lodges, you would share a game drive and a vehicle with about 8 people. It was just the two of us with our guide! We enjoyed the personalized experience and got to a lot of questions.
