Victoria Falls is listed high on the bucket list for many travelers and couples. It is one of the 7 Natural Wonders of the World. It holds a special place in my heart, because my dad proposed to mom at Victoria Falls. In order to have the best experience, it’s a good idea to stay as close as you can to the national park.
Where to Stay:
Victoria Falls Safari Lodge is a great choice for travelers who want options. When we arrived, we were greeted with smiles from the staff and refreshing drinks. At the activities desk, you can select if you’d like to do a game drive or a helicopter ride for an additional fee. After traveling for two weeks, I cherished the moment to sleep in and relax.
Dining Options:
For breakfast, the lodge offers a buffet with various fruits and breads. The omelette station has a chef, and I loved the “Make Your Own Bloody Bar.”
The Buffalo Bar is located on the main deck near the pool. It offers typical American fare: burgers & french fries. Our server was very attentive and ensured we had the best time possible.
MaKuwa-Kuwa is the main restaurant on the property. We met an American couple and they highly recommended that we tried the warthog. This was my first time tasting game meat and it was interesting. I particularly enjoyed the live musical performance at night: beautiful music and a genuine connection to the culture.
How to Get to Victoria Falls:
Victoria Falls Safari Lodge offers a complimentary shuttle into town that runs every hour. It drops you off right in front of the park. When you’re traveling to the Victoria Falls, don’t forget to bring an umbrella! You’ll need it.
More Options:
If you want more privacy and a premium level of customer service, check out the Victoria Falls Safari Club and Victoria Falls Safari Suites. The Safari Suites are perfect for families and small groups, since it offers two and three bedroom suites. The Safari Club offers a personal butler to ensure all your needs are met. All three properties (Safari Lodge, Safari Club, and Safari Suites) are organized by Africa Albida Tourism.

I enjoyed seeing the sites and talking to the locals in the area. It’s a small town and many locals have never seen Victoria Falls. I appreciated having the opportunity to experience a world wonder, and I’ll cherish it for the rest of my life. I will definitely return.
Safe Travels!
